In 2017, thousands of projects have been submitted by designers from 55 countries around the world.
The jury joined in October 2017 in New York and San Francisco for choosing the best projects and the armchair “Monte” designed by the German Designer Christian Werner (Hamburg), was selected as Winner of the GOOD DESIGNTM AWARD 2017 for DESIGN EXCELLENCE.
The idea for the armchair „Monte“ came to the designer during a trip in the Alps. By visiting different huts, he noticed the classical chair „Windsor“ and on the basis of this
he created “Monte”. For its construction he took inspiration from the sticks between the seat and the back obtaining a completed brand new armchair.
The padded seat gives the look to stay suspended among the wooden sticks.
The loosed cushion for the back gives the greatest comfort and a casual look.
The good proportions of seat and back make this armchair extremely comfortable.
“Monte” is combined with two small side-tables, one of which enriched with a loosed upholstered cushion can easily become a pouf.
“Monte” collection looks perfect both in private and public areas.
